PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF DEBDEN, ESSEX
The Debden Local History Recorders Group was formed in early 2009 by a small number of people interested in the history of Debden and Debden Green.
We operate in conjunction with the Recorders of Uttlesford History (RUH) in promoting their aims in the parish of Debden which are to collect, record, research, and make available to the public historical material relevant to the village of Debden with Debden Green.
Over the years we have collected over 25,000 records from Parish Registers, Censuses and Tithe Awards. We have also been given more than 750 photographs spanning from the early 1900s to the present day.
We have also made a number of recordings with old residents reminiscing about their lives in the village.
We are always on the look-out for more documents and we have transcribed, scanned and made copies of a large number of various documents that have been made available to us.
NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME!
